Did I play this right?
Often I hear those words, I read the scenario's often in the Gutshot forums, and often I glance over them, but something happened yesterday thats been bugging me, and I can see claims for playing the following hand and the tells I should of picked up on.
£20 F.O Blinds 350 - 700 Final 3 tables (unknown at the time, the stats screen wasn't actually showing upstairs) position 3 from the BB, Big Stack (seriously big) 3 behind me.
My stack: 5,000 M = 4.5ish
I pick up AJ suited (hearts) raise to 1,400 every one folds apart form the big stack who calls (and ask how much I have leftish)
Flop 10d As Qd.
I go all-in (I feel I should of checked now)
he calls and shows Jd 7d
Turn 2s
River 9d
This was one of the better hands I had, I made two mistakes, I didn't check to see where I was I could of got away for cheap, I didn't get a feel for the table this was the first hand I played on it.
I had a few more opportunities to double up so I fell in love with this strong hand.
After reading Mike's book of tells I knew he was betting on the end because he had seen my stack and asked what was left. But I felt after the flop I was ahead, (which I was).
What could I of done differently?
